MacBook Air 2016 Release Date, News & Update: Launch Cancelled? Rumors Suggest Apple Focusing On Other Products

Scarcity of any official announcement from Apple has led many to believe that the tech giant is probably thinking of discontinuing its Macbook Air line and that it has cancelled the MacBook Air 2016 release. Fans were left surprised when Apple did not make any announcement regarding its Air line at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

It may be too early to make such as assumption but logically Apple will be better off if it drops its line of Ultrabook computers including MacBook Air 2016. Doing so will lower costs of Apple significantly and the Tim Cook-led company will also be able to focus more on its other signature brands and marketing efforts.

Moreover, interest in the MacBook Air 2016 is also on the fall mainly because of Apple's silence and interest in MacBook Pro 2016 is on the rise as it expected to be launched sometime in October. Previously, even the Apple CEO hinted at the same stating that the iPad Pro is a replacement for a notebook and once people start using it they would not require anything else other than their phones.

Even though removing the MacBook Air 2016 and the entire line seems logical, it will be interesting to see how fans react if at all Apple take such a tough decision. According to Macworld, Apple believes MacBook Pro 2016 and iPad Pro has all the features and will fill the need for a portable option. Moreover, the company has also started promoting its iPad Pro as an alternative to a notebook.

Rumors suggest the company will cancel the MacBook Air 2016 this year only and will try and sell off its stocks first. However, Apple would need to market its other products vigorously to fill the void, writes iTech Post.

As per The Bitbag, it was earlier suggested that Apple MacBook Air 2016 would finally have the Retina display. The Air variant is Apple's only MacBook without this feature. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more MacBook Air 2016 news and updates!
