The favorite tandem of Tris and Four of the "Divergent" franchise has reached a dead end. It seems like Shailene Woodley and Theo James are cutting ties with the "Divergent" franchise.
After "Divergent: Allegiant" was released, Lionsgate was disappointed with the movie's ratings and performance. The disappointment was imminent to the point that the people behind the "Divergent" franchise sort of demoted the next installment and plans to release it as a TV show.
The plans of turning the next "Divergent" franchise into a TV show was perhaps the last straw for Shailene Woodley. She reportedly said that she did not sign up for a TV show. After her decision to cut ties with "Divergent," her fellow main co-star, Theo James, also followed her footsteps.
Although the fans are saddened of Shailene Woodley and Theo James' abandoning the "Divergent" installments, there might be someone who is quite pleased with the said decision. That certain someone might be Ruth Kearney, Theo James' almost but not quite wife yet.
Ruth Kearney and Theo James were supposedly planning to get married but had to forego it in the middle of planning. Although the main reason for the wedding cancellation was Theo James' need to prepare for a James Bond role, some fingers pointed to "Divergent" actress Shailene Woodley. Co-stars falling for each other is a very common thing in Hollywood and having a boyfriend/girlfriend does not necessarily spare one from heartbreak.
With Shailene Woodley and Theo James over and done with "Divergent" franchise, would Ruth Kearney finally get the wedding that she wants? Or will Theo and Shailene shock all the fans and admit that they have a relationship? All hope might be lost for the original Tris and Four to be in the "Divergent" TV series but their fans are still looking forward to future projects together.
