'BioShock: The Collection' Out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC; How to Upgrade, System Requirement Unveiled

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners running three titles within "BioShock: The Collection" are in for early holiday to find their game remastered for Steam starting Sept 13. Publisher 2K unveils information about "BioShock" for consoles while detailing instructions for PC players.

Remastered versions of "BioShock," "BioShock 2" and "Minerva's Den" set to invade PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Tuesday. Those who are not on Steam can also play the remaster two days after on September 15 when it goes live. Players running Windows Live or PC needs to take additional steps to add "BioShock: The Collection" though. There are also certain system requirements to be complied.

2K blog reported that "BioShock" on Steam owners will have to simply relax and do nothing. Corresponding remastered versions will appear on Steam library and the player can choose between the original or the new one.

Meanwhile 2K stressed that "BioShock" not on Steam are running for nine years already. Players need to provide proof of ownership of their titles because those years represent the era where CD keys are rarely needed. Steam profile credentials and proof of purchase or receipt are sufficient for 2K support to provide Steam access.

The last issue pertains to PC version owners if they can run the "BioShock" remaster in their machine. According to PC Gamer, the minimum requirements need Windows 7 Service Pack 1 x64 with Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz processor or Athlon 2.7GHz. Also, RAM should be at least 4GB while any DirectX11 compatible video card can qualify. Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or AMD Radeon HD 7770 would do well in these parameters.

Remember that those who only has one "BioShock" in the series will get just the corresponding remaster, so will a player with three titles get them all. This makes space requirement vary. "BioShock" and "BioShock 2" both have 25GB drive requirement while "Minerva" needs 20GB.
