Next Borderlands 2 DLC, Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, Gets Trailer and a Release Date

In their first bit of confirmation for the new Borderlands 2 DLC, Gearbox has released a trailer for the campaign in the style of an old timey serial. Light up your Lucky Strikes, and dance the Charleston as you watch the trailer below!

Like the DLCs of past, Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt similarly offers new weapons, gear, enemies, and a new explorable area called Aegrus, offering swamps and mountaineous cliffs.

Looking to the trailer, the enemies seem to be supporters, if not full blown worshippers of Pandora's dictator, Handsome Jack. There also looks to be some pretty nasty new enemy types to hunt.

According to Polygon, Big Game Hunt is a "four-to-six hour campaign" and "will start off with players facing off against level 30 and higher enemies.

Hunt's producer, James Lopez, says the vault hunters will fight side-by-side with Sir Hammerlock to regain control of a hunting lodge. The lodge will serve as the campaign's central hub from where Hammerlock will distribute missions once the lodge has been re-taken.

The plot sees Hyperion's Professor Nakayama attempting to restore Jack to his dictatorial role, using the island's savages to his benefit. And as the title alludes, there will also be a number of new, ferocious animals for you to hunt should you decide that the wall of your hovel in Sanctuary needs a new head mounted on it.

Among these new enemies include a chieftan that can heal enemies, boroks, scaylions, and a Voracidous, "a seraph guardian stalker that is controlled by one of the game's chiefs." That might be the "Stalker the size of a small building" previously hinted at.

The DLC will also add on to customization options for the vault hunters, as well as a new vehicle named the 'fan-boat' which can be summoned from a Catch-A-Boat. It will come equipped with 68 customized skins, as well as corrosive, incendiary and shock weapon mods.

The DLC is part of the season pass, but those who don't have that option can grab it for 800 Microsoft Points, or $9.99. You can grab it when the DLC releases on all platforms Jan. 15.
