'Battlefield 1' Release Date, Latest News & Update: What's Inside the New 'Giant Shadow' DLC Map; Open Beta Attracts 13 Million Players

It's a win for EA's "Battlefield 1," which open beta attracts 13 million players. The first-person shooter held its open beta earlier this month, wherein over 13 million gamers had the chance to get a first glimpse of the exciting new Lars Gustavsson-directed game from EA.

According to PC Gamer, EA took to their official website to share that the "Battefield 1" open beta attracts 13 million players and to say thank you to gamers who have participated in it. Senior producer Aleks Grøndal shared that they now have a treasure trove of data that they are digging into in order to tweak the game and make it even better.

The "Battlefield 1" open beta that attracts 13 million players was able to earn 28.9 melee kills, 23.8 million "road kills," and 62.2 million kills by mounted players in the span of its eight-day beta that began on August 31. EA even shared an infographic showing the statistics of the what seemed like a super fun beta test.

Meanwhile, Gamespot reports that DICE has released new information on "Battlefield 1"'s new DLC. So what's inside the new "Giant Shadow" DLC map at fans are looking forward to? First of all, the upcoming DLC will arrive in December, following the game's release in October. The DLC will find gamers in the Battle of the Selle in 1918, where British forces have penetrated Hindenburg and are threatening the railway center.

Aside from action and adventure, what's inside the new "Giant Shadow" DLC map? According to the official DICE website, the "Battlefield 1" map will feature an armored train that contains deadly weapons, which gamers can use in battle against the enemies.

IGN reports that Microsoft is offering some sweet "Battlefield 1" deals alongside the new Xbox One S, so make sure to check that out as well. "Battlefield 1" will launch on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and XBox One beginning October 21.
