iPad Mini 5 Release Date, News & Update: New Tablet To Launch in March 2017; Apple Removes 3.5mm Headphone Jack? Specs, Features!

The iPad Mini 4 was released last year in September and fans believe it's about time for Apple to release a new iteration. There were expectations that an iPad Mini 5 will be launched at Apple's September event. The said event has come and gone but there wasn't a new iPad Mini in sight. Now, fans are wondering when this new mini tablet will be released or if Apple really plans to introduce a new iPad Mini.

A release date for the iPad Mini 5 is still uncertain as Apple hasn't confirmed anything yet. However, the company's calendar of events is already known and avid Apple fans know that the company also launches new products in March. This year, the Cupertino-based tech giant introduced the iPhone SE and iPad Pro 9.7 at their March keynote event. According to PC Advisor, it's likely that Apple will also introduce a new iPad Mini tablet in March next year.

As for what the next iPad Mini will look like, rumor has it that there won't be a significant change to the screen size, with the iPad Mini 5 featuring the same 7.9-inch screen display found in the iPad Mini 4. However, the next iteration is also likely to be durable, thinner and more lightweight than its predecessor. Since Apple changed the new iPhone 7 in a big way - by removing the standard 3.5mm headphone jack - it is expected that the same thing will be done on the upcoming iPad Mini.

iPad Mini 5's base storage will reportedly be at 32 GB, instead of the standard 16 GB. It's been widely rumored that the new mini tablet will have a 3D Touch feature. Also onboard is an improved chipset, the A9 processor, several media outlets have stated. Since Apple hasn't confirmed anything at this point, fans should take the reports with a pinch of salt.
