Bane and Lex Luthor Added to Injustice: Gods Among Us

A magazine scan that popped up over at All Games Beta tipped off fans that two more of the DC Universe's deadly array of villains are joining the roster for Injusice: Gods Among Us.

Bat-breaker Bane, and consumate Superman arch-enemy Lex Luthor are the newest characters coming to the future DC fighter.

No video yet showing what the duo are capable of once they get down to brawling, but there doesn't seem to be any surprises for either character.
Reliant on his suit like he was in MK vs DCU, Lex will likely be more of a ranged fighter as opposed to bruiser Bane. AGB didn't say what magazine the scan came from, but it reports that, "true to his hulking form, Bane is a power character and a master of grappling who uses wrestling-inspired moves without a projectile in sight. The Batman villain's character trait is to pump venom through his body. When triggered, it amps up his power and makes him even more dangerous."

On the other side of the coin, Lex, "Superman's nemesis is not only key to the story mode, but he's also a heavy-duty fighter, thanks to his armored suit. Luthor relies heavily on gadget based attacks, and can launch missles and suck foes towards him. His special trait is a shield that can be powered by holding a button."

The scan looks to be part of some magazine's larger feature on the game, but AGB hasn't revealed the source yet.

Lex and Bane join fellow DC alumni Deathstroke, Batman, Superman, the Flash, Cyborg, Nightwing, Wonder Woman, the Joker, Green Arrow, Green Lanten, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Solomon Grundy, with more on the way.

This brings Injustice's character count to 15, meaning there's still quite a few characters yet to be announced. According to the game's presentation at this year's EVO, there will be at least 24 playable characters and 15 arenas. Boon does plan on introducing a few characters you might not expect. "With Mortal Kombat, we brought in crazy guests like Freddy Krueger. So we'll definitely want to introduce unexpected characters [via DLC] to Injustice. That'll be our strategy. It's comparable to Mortal Kombat, but being really aggressive with our DLC characters."

Injustice: Gods Among Us is set to be released this April, for Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360.
