No Man's Sky' Latest News & Update: Sony Prez Reacts to Negative Reviews, Some Gamers Ask for Refund

Sony concedes that "No Man's Sky" is currently in limbo after the title failed to met high expectations. Sony President Shuhei Yoshida that there are several elements are in the trailer and promo materials but absent in current gameplay.

Yoshida admits that some gamers are writing Sony for a refund. Most of the complaints can be traced from director Sean Murray's promises that "No Man's Sky" is going to be the pinnacle of VR gaming but fails in the launch and early gameplay. However, Sony remains confident that there are added features and updates in the future to pacify the gamers.

Yoshida also emphasized the indie nature of the game. Biggest drawback is the repetitive gameplay and lack of variation to kill monotony although "No Man's Sky" receive praises for general design, looks and sound track. Then there were technical issues that happened during the launch. Most notable among them is an element supposed to be present as promised.

Meanwhile, Tech Radar reported that Yoshida himself plays "No Man's Sky" and is happy with gameplay so far. The Sony president clarifies that albeit complaints and notice for refund, the game will continue to collate feedback and push with further updates. He then assured that what was seen during the demo and preview will be the endgame of "no Man's Sky."

To recall, Polygon called "No Man's Sky" as a money drawer for Sony but wanting for critical acclaim. While publisher Sony and developer Hello Games decline to provide details about sales, estimates set at less than a million players in Steam. This game title is also the best-selling in August.

Even after the good commercial run for "No Man's Sky," the major downside are negative reviews and horde of vocal players bursting discontent. Fact is, nobody from Hello Games issued any statement nor reactions since last week of August. Yoshida's reaction was not totally I defense of the directors but personal observation rather.
