GoPro Karma Release Date, News & Update: 5,100 mAh Li-Po Battery Provides 20 Minutes of Flight Time? Impressive Specs & Features!

The flying camera GoPro Karma is finally here though it will go on sale in the US from Oct. 23. Buyers cannot pre-order the drone yet but will be able to purchase it from GoPro's official website. The drone will be available with and without a GoPro camera. Thus, Hero 4 Black users need not spend extra money.

Karma without the GoPro camera will cost $799 whereas GoPro Karma with Hero 5 Black is priced at $1099.99. The Karma with Hero 5 Session will be available in early 2017 and will have a price tag of $999.99, reports TechAdvisor.

The GoPro Karma controller is a games console-styled transmitter that has a folding color screen. The only cameras that are compatible with the GoPro Karma are Hero 4 Black/Silver, the new Hero 5 and Hero 5 Session.

The GoPro Karma uses screw-on self-tightening propellers and brushless motors. Its 5,100 mAh Li-Po battery provides 20 minutes of flight time and takes an hour to recharge. The Grip takes two hours while the controller takes 2.5 hours to recharge. However, the Grip and the controller cannot be charged at the same time.

Of the things that the GoPro Karma is, it is extremely convenient. GoPro has put in a lot of effort to make it so. Everything is included in the box except the camera. Users get a backpack that has the controller, battery, charger, handheld grip and of course the fold-up drone.

For stabilized handheld shots, GoPro Karma's 3-axis gimbal may be swapped between the Grip handle and the drone and thanks to a new range of mounts, the Grip may be mounted on to vehicles as well as the body. The Grip's battery can last for almost two hours. The "Passenger Mode" allows users to take videos and images without using the controller.

The GoPro Karma controller can control the drone within a kilometer radius and it uses Wi-Fi and radio signals to stay coordinated with the drone, writes The Bitbag. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more GoPro Karma news and updates!
