‘Poldark’ Season 2 Latest News & Update: A New Challenger For Aidan Turner’s Ross, The Dashing & Romantic Hugh Armitage

British actor Aidan Turner was relatively unknown in the international scene not too long ago. However, with the rise of the hit BBC period drama, which is now currently airing as "Poldark" Season 2, Turner's stellar status even in the global arena is now unquestioned.

And of course there is that appeal that only Aidan Turner could probably pull of in "Poldark" Season 1. What is probably the most recognizable poster for the period drama series is that of a shirtless Aidan Turner wielding a scythe, an image that was burned into the long-term memories of countless fans internationally well into "Poldark" Season 2.

In fact, the shirtless phoro of "Poldark" Season 2 star Aidan Turner was even voted as TV Moment of the Year 2015 by readers of  Radio Times. Not only has it made the actor a globally recognizable face, it  also unintentionally launched him as some sort of a sex symbol.

But Aidan Turner's reign as the most appealing man of the series is now being challenged by a newcomer in the ongoing "Poldark" Season 2. According to Digital Spy, the challenge comes from actor Josh Whitehouse who will be joining the "Poldark" cast as Hugh Armitage.

The dashing Josh Whitehouse could be prove to be a challenge for Aidan Turner, in terms of vying for the attention of viewers for "Poldark" Season 2. As Hugh Armitage, Josh Whitehouse's Poldark character is said to be aristocratic and a romantic as well. Will the two characters engage in skirmishes in the romantic arena over some damsel as well?

Meanwhile, Aidan Turner also discussed how his character Ross Poldark could differ in "Poldark" Season 2, as reported by The Sydney Morning Herald. In the first season, Turner says his character, Ross, was immature, impulsive and hasty  in decisions regarding matters that should have required a more thorough consideration. It comes with being young and that's what caused a lot of troubles for him.

In "Poldark" Season 2 however, Aidan Turner explains that Ross is beginning to understand how the world works. He becomes a better listener and has learned to delegate some of his tasks. Clearly the events and trials the young Ross faced in season one has been a great teacher for him.

"Poldark" Season 2 is currently airing at BBC One on Sundays. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more updates.
