Square Enix has definitely tested the patience of the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise's fans. "Kingdom Hearts 2" was released back in 2005 and it is just this year that the video game developer revealed that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be on its way. After over a decade, fans are now going to be able to play "Kingdom Hearts 3," but some are not quite happy about it. Was the long wait too much for the fans to handle?
Eleven years is definitely a long time, but when you're a hardcore fan then 11 years is worth the wait. One fan expressed his disappointment with other fans who have lost interest in "Kingdom Hearts 3." He even went on to say that those who complained about the "Kingdom Hearts 3" plot are not real fans of the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise.
"The plot is what makes the game what it is, Did some people think this was just going to be a game that you just go through Disney worlds beating up heartless and seeing your favorite Final Fantasy characters then rinse and repeat?," the fan wrote. "I can't wait for KH3, I'm a big fan and always will be, even if I have to wait 30 years for the next one." Another fan also echoed this comment saying that the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise has the most interesting story out there.

The frustrations of the fans for the long wait is absolutely understandable. But you just can't deny the fact that there are still fans who are not tired of waiting for their favorite game franchise like "Kingdom Hearts." Although nothing much is revealed yet about the much-awaited "Kingdom Hearts 3," fans are already counting down the days until the release of "KH 3." For a much-hyped game, "Kingdom Hearts 3" has noticeably few updates. And the reason behind the lack of "Kingdom Hearts 3" announcement is quite simple.
Square Enix wants to make sure that the fans will focus their attention to "Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue" first. "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue" will have a special connection that ties the games together. In order to understand the whole story of "Kingdom Hearts 3," you have to conquer "Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue" first. The "Kingdom Hearts 3" trailer stated that the game is "currently in development."
