"The Walking Dead" season 7 is finally premiering in one month and fans are excited to see how Negan's presence will play into the lives of Nick and his crew. Last season's finale saw the new villain implementing some new ground rules and using his trusty bat, Lucille, to show them how serious he really is. The question in everyone's mind now is, who is Negan's first kill?

In true "The Walking Dead" fashion, fans were quick to point out that some characters are safe from Lucille. According to Vanity Fair, at least three characters are safe from Negan as of the moment, and they are Carol, who obviously wasn't present when Negan began his game of Russian roulette, and Sasha, who appears in new artwork for "The Walking Dead" season 7. She wouldn't probably be on the artwork for an upcoming season that she would star in for only one episode.

Meanwhile, fans know that production shot multiple death scenes of Nick's squad for the return of "The Walking Dead" season 7 in order to prevent any leaks from escaping. But what if Negan's first victim actually survives Lucille's blow? Fans are speculating that maybe the reason why the production has been so secretive these past months is because it was a fake out just so Negan can threaten Nick's squad?

We recently reported on how Nick may switch sides to appease Negan, a TV trope that has been commonly used throughout the years. It's no surprise that Negan is a force to be reckoned with this upcoming season. There's also Ezekiel, who The Hollywood Reporter unveils that is majorly featured in both the new poster and trailer for "The Walking Dead" season 7.

AMC has high hopes for the exciting new season, as the company's president and CEO Josh Sapan shared to The Wrap his thoughts on the success of the show. Specifically, Sapan believes that the "The Walking Dead" season 7 is a rare franchise, much like "Star Trek," which has gone through many adaptations and iterations but still manages to capture audiences worldwide.

"The Walking Dead" returns on October 23 on AMC. Meanwhile, comment below if you think Negan's first victim survives Lucille's blow.
