The iPad Mini 5 is one of the next devices expected to be out by early 2017, likely sporting a whole new look and an array of new features. Apple has not mentioned anything credible to date though one has to visualize upgrades from the current crop of iPad Minis.

Aside from that, there is the integration of features from current Apple devices. The iPhone 7, for example, is rugged and thinner, made possible with the removal of the 3.5 mm jack. As mentioned in a previous post, it is believed that the iPad Mini 5 will turn to the Lightning port for private audio and charging.

iPad Mini 5 should be more rugged

Devices are now brought almost anywhere so another feature that the iPad Mini 5 will likely carry is being water-proof. That was applied to the iPhone 7 through the removal of the physical home button so there is a chance that the next mini tablet will likely do away with that too.

Will it be known as the iPad Mini Pro?

As most know by now, the iPad Pro has been doing great so many are under the impression that the device name could be carried to the iPad Mini 5 as possibly the iPad Mini Pro. The name change would hardly matter with most concerned about the specs that the next iPad Mini will carry.

Running down the rumored specs

Many unofficial specs of the iPad Mini 5 have been brought out in the open, much of which are impressive. That includes seeing a 9.7-inch tablet featuring a more powerful processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 to 256 GB of internal storage, an 8 MP rear camera, a 1.2 MP front-facing camera, and a 5,124 mAh battery.

On the outside, the iPad Mini 5 may feature a Series 700 aluminum casing which could be similar to the iPhone 6s, MacWorld reported. It is speculated to come out by March 2017.
