NFL Trade Rumors 2016: Denver Broncos Prove Better With Trevor Siemian Than Brock Osweiler [POLL]

The Denver Broncos hold a bit of a chip on their shoulder as they try to make another run at possibly snagging another Super Bowl crown. But as everyone knows, the team has had its share of personnel problems, particularly at the quarterback position.

The Denver Broncos lost Peyton Manning who officially retired but the big story was the exit of its groomed replacement, Brock Osweiler. Osweiler took his act to the Houston Texans after agreeing to a $72 million four-year pact which left a big hole to coach Gary Kubiak’s charges.

Denver Broncos general manager John Elway was criticized hard by that development and through a recent interview with Pro Football Talk, the top brass weighed in on the Brock Osweiler loss.

Based on the interview, the loss may have been for the best with the Elway saying that "a lot of times those deals you don’t make are the best ones." That said, could it be the fact that the Texans are struggling in the early stages of the NFL season while the Denver Broncos are surprising up 2-0?

Did Texans overspend on Brock Osweiler?

For Osweiler, it may be too early to tell if his exit was indeed a big shot in the arm for the Denver Broncos. As the Bleacher Report indicated, Osweiler has just completed 56.9 percent of his passes for 695 yards to go with three touchdowns and four interceptions.

But the attention here is obviously to ask if Osweiler was worth that big $72 million pact. Had he been with the Denver Broncos, Elway and Kubiak would have been befuddled with the record coming off the Peyton Manning era.

The Broncos are currently going with Trevor Siemian who is doing a bit better with a 67.8 percent pass completion rate. He is owed only $525,000 for this season but even more important is the Denver Broncos are not threatened with cap issues moving forward even if Sieman folds.
