Sony ‘Xperia X Compact’ Now Available in the US; Performance Can Now be Registered On New Android 7.0 Nougat Beta

The Sony "Xperia X Compact" is not coming in cheap, as Amazon lists it for $500. According to sources, the mobile phone from Sony was initially offered for $450 on pre order. Now, it looks like the price has returned to its original mark.

As GSMArena reported, the "Xperia X Compact" is composed of a 4.6-inch display with a 720 x 1280 resolution. It weighs at 135g and hosts a Nano-SIM. It currently carries the Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow)which, can eventually be upgraded to v7.0 (Nougat).

The platform of the device include Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650 chipset, an Andreno 510 GPU and a 32 GB, 3 GB RAM. Looking closely on the camera of the Sony "Xperia X Compact," the device is fully equipped with a 23 MP, face detection autofocus, LED flash, and 5MP, 1080p secondary camera.

The battery of the Sony "Xperia X Compact" is composed of a Non-removable Li-Ion 2700 mAh battery with an impressive standby of up to 710 h (2G) / Up to 750 h (3G) or talktime of up to 11 h (2G) / Up to 14 h (3G).

As opposed to other reviews that the Sony "Xperia X Compact" does not have a fingerprint sensor; it does. However, the device is still subpar to others who have designed their units to be waterproof. This waterproof innovation was first and popularly featured by Samsung until recently, Apple's iPhone 7 series adapted the same feature too.

Meanwhile, owners of Sony "Xperia X Performance" can now register their device on the new Android 7.0 Nougat beta. The beta series is not available to everyone with the "Xperia X Performance" so it's best to see whether your unit qualifies on the beta register.
