Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, News & Update: Deca-core Processor, 4K Display & VR Support?

Samsung is slowly erasing the bad traces of fire-prone Galaxy Note7 when a senior official was arrested for allegations of leaking important data to Chinese tech rivals. If anything good comes out of this recent Samsung fiascos, it was details of upcoming Galaxy S8 leaking as well.

It's a mystery how quick-eyed sources managed to peek through documents from ongoing court battle against the unnamed senior official. But what spur the interests are leaks that Samsung Galaxy S8 has ten-core chipset through 10nm Exynos processor. Samsung could be the first to utilize deca-core in Galaxy S8. After all, this chipset was confirmed existing when chipmaker MediaTek presented such ten-core processor in previous tech events.

According to Android Authority, there is no difference between 10nm Exynos and canonical Exynos 8895. This specific chip uses ARM Mali-G71 GPU which is twice as fast as Mali-T880 GPU. Meaning, the next generation Samsung Galaxy S8 could be twice faster than Galaxy S7 that has ARM Mali-T880 under the hood.

Now about power consumption, Samsung Galaxy S8 might become the new barometer of efficiency. ARM Mali-G71 is reportedly 20 percent more efficient compared to current Samsung Galaxy S7.

Then going into display of Samsung Galaxy S8 could make mobile gamers drool. Technical reports said that ARM Mali-G71 is capable of 4K support and even virtual reality. These are all rumors but worth seeing into future potentials of Galaxy S8 as first of its class to offer 4K and VR support.

Meanwhile, Tech Times provided further tech description about Samsung Galaxy S8 display. It said that ARM Mali-G71 is the answer to demands such as Vulkan - Khronos graphics cross-over. Then there are demands for better mobile VR experience similar to gaming consoles.

It is worthwhile to stress that these details are from leaks and unverified documents allegedly from senior Samsung official accused of corporate espionage. As such, Samsung Galaxy S8 is still a thing of near future. How near - the same leak said it could be February of 2017.
