PC gamers will have plenty of opportunities to peek "The Division" gameplay as developer Ubisoft confirms that features previously unavailable in live game gets a nod in Public Test Server. Ubisoft aims to gather feedbacks as much as possible in preparation for the upcoming release.
"The Division" has no clear release date yet. However, Ubisoft said that Steam gamers need not wait too long because they intend to unleash this action title right after addressing feedbacks from tests. The current update available at Public Test Server is version 1.4.
Game Spot reported that update 1.4 sports several key elements previously lacking in "The Division." This indicates that Ubisoft is fast tracking the release of this much-anticipated PC-based game. Another interesting point is how hard Ubisoft tries to make participative gaming environment where players themselves can report bugs and other errors.
Ubisoft explained that "The Division" update 1.4 is available through Uplay and Steam. It doesn't mean though that those who already own the game will lose their copies. Public Test Server is separate from the main game and will install on a different folder from the main executables, News Thrive reported.
While test server presents chances to have better grasp of "The Division" ahead of schedule, players need to consider that 45 GB of drive space is required for now. Reason for this is the requisite to download the whole game client. However, gamers can simply delete or uninstall test files later after the main game goes live.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft have reasons to polish "The Division" because reports confirm that it holds top spot as fastest-selling game this year. Though there are several threats to its throne including fellow action titles like "Battlefield 1" and "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."
"The Division" is confined in PC for now but Ubisoft is exploring the potentials to cover PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.
