The implication is that Michael would definitely survive the initial critical moments after the gunshot but would spend the first few episodes of "Jane the Virgin" Season 3 recuperating.

The new detail was revealed by Jennie Snyder Urman, creator and showrunner of "Jane the Virgin" Season 3. According to Urman, Jane will reunite with somebody from the past which would mess up the nice love triangle going on between Michael, Jane and Rafael. Is Urman suggesting that Jane will be losing her virginity to this somebody?

In this theme of growing up, Jane's mother Xo will also have some mature decisions to make with the arrival of "Jane the Virgin" Season 3 release date. In the previous season, Xo was able to keep her pregnancy a secret to everyone.
