'The Flash' Season 3 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Barry Loses His Speed Again? More Plot & Cast Details Revealed

Just a night after the second season of "Supergirl" hits the CW for the first time, "The Flash" Season 3 will finally go back on television. The show, which is the network's highest rated show, is probably currently everyone's favorite superhero show and it has received consistent critical acclaim with its episodes.

Not much is known about "The Flash" Season 3 as of the moment but one of the more popular theories regarding this season's plot is that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) might be losing his powers again. Just last season, Barry already lost his powers temporarily after Zoom sucked it out of him. Thankfully, the people at S.T.A.R. Labs were able to find a way to bring the powers back by building a particle accelerator.

According to Game Spot, "The Flash" Season 3 will be loosely based on the seminal comic book series "Flashpoint." The comic book story arc, written by Geoff Johns, is known for presenting an altered universe of the DC pantheon.

"The Flash" Season 3 will see Barry travelling back in time to save his mother, TV Line reported. This was already teased after Zoom killed his father in the previous season. This will cause a lot of ripples that will be felt even in the other superhero shows on the CW.

"The Flash" Season 3 will be aired starting on Tuesday, October 4, at 8 pm ET on the CW. GameNGuide will be covering more on updates regarding "The Flash" season 3 and its episodes in the coming weeks.

Will Barry's loss of power be a central theme to "The Flash" Season 3? What are your expectations with "The Flash" Season 3? GameNGuide would love to hear your theories in the comments section. In the meantime, watch the teaser preview for "The Flash" Season 3 in the video below.
