‘Left 4 Dead 3’ Release Date, Gameplay Details, News & Update: Valve Employee Confirms Game?; Features Prequel Story, Arriving in 2017?

Fans of Valve's first-person horror shooter game franchise, "Left 4 Dead, "continue to wait for more updates on the release of a third installment of the game, "Left 4 Dead 3," despite the game developer's silence on the matter. It's been a long seven-year wait for these avid gamers but they haven't lost hope.

While Valve has yet to confirm if "Left 4 Dead 3" is possible, some fans believe that the sequel is really happening. This spark of hope comes from Valve employee Tristan Reidford, who provided a tutorial for the Destinations platform. When Reidford shared the images on how to go about the tutorial, fans were quick enough to spot a certain folder in his computer labeled "left4dead3."

The image was immediately taken down and replaced with a new one but people started to have their suspicions. It's uncertain if that was part of "Left 4 Dead 3" tease from Valve or Reidford just wants to torment those who have been eagerly longing for the third installment to arrive, but it did get people talking.

A press release confirming Valve will move to a new, larger office space also sparked speculation that the company is preparing for the big work on "Left 4 Dead 3," which should be ready by 2017. While Valve's transfer to a new location doesn't mean that it has something to do with the franchise, fans would like to think that it's the case, especially with reports suggesting that the game could be out by next year.

There were also rumors about the gameplay details of "Left 4 Dead 3." Previous reports have mentioned that the game will feature four new characters and six game campaigns. Digital Spy also gathered that the game will actually feature a prequel story instead of a follow-up story. It was mentioned that the third installment will take place a month following the spread of the zombie infection but before the events that transpired in "Left 4 Dead 2." While these bits of information should be interesting to fans, it should be noted that Valve hasn't confirmed them so it's best to take them with a pinch of salt.
