Rumor: Next Batman Arkham Game Reveal Coming in 2-3 Months

Hot on the heels of news that the next entry in the Batman: Arkham series is on track to come out in 2013, a WB Montreal developer has indicated that the publisher may reveal the unannounced game in the next "2-3 months."

Earlier todayWarner Bros. Montreal's senior producer Ben Mattes tweeted: "In just 2-3 months, our project will be announced (in grand fashion) and it's going to be big! As we dive head-first into our polish period..." (The tweet has since been taken down.)

Rumor has it that the next Arkham game will ditch the series gritty look, for an aesthetic inspired by DC's "silver age" of comics. In addition Variety reports that the new game may be a prequel, including Batman's first encounters with some of DC's character icons, including Aquaman, Superman, and the Joker.

Recent job listings uncovered by Videogamer may even point to the future Arkham game being released on the next generation of consoles. Asking for a producer and creative director, both listing mentioned "work with its game development team responsible for expanding DC Comics universe in the interactive space," and "expert in next-generation AAA action/adventure games."
