The Sony Xperia X Compact and Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 are two of the most compared flagships in the industry today since both variants come with decent specifications and design similarities. The Sony Xperia X Compact was announced during the IFA 2016 while Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 just got an Android Nougat update recently. Below is a breakdown of the things you should know about the Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 and Sony Xperia X Compact.

Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 & Sony Xperia X Compact Features

The Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 is a lot slimmer, taller and denser compared to the Sony Xperia X Compact. Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 is available in Ceramic, Mist Blue, Universe Black and Stylish White variants. Sony Xperia X Compact also has a variety of colors to choose from such as Rose Gold, Gold, Black and White.  

Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 has a bigger display screen measuring 5.2 inches with AMOLED screen while Sony Xperia X Compact only measures in 4.6 inches of display with an IPS LCD screen. However, the Sony variant has a higher IPP than of the Samsung flagship, even with the same resolutions of 1280 x 720.

In terms of processors, the Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 does not have so much to bring to the table as the phone is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 with a 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 306 graphics card. Meanwhile, the Sony Xperia X Compact sports a Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650 with a 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 510.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 features a 5-megapixel front camera and 13-megapixel rear camera with geo-tagging, face detection, LED flash and autofocus features. On the other hand, Sony Xperia X Compact exceeded fans' expectations as it has a 5-megapixel camera and 23-megapixel rear camera with face detection, touch focus, panorama, HDR, phase-detection autofocus and a LED flash.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 has a longer battery life sporting a removable battery of 3,100mAh, while Sony Xperia X Compact has a 2,700mAh non-removable battery. Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 has an internal storage of 16GB, whereas the Sony Xperia X Compact has a storage of 32GB and both handset are expandable up to 256GB.
