John Romero Wants to "Get a Deal Done" with Square Enix

John Romero, one of the minds behind iD classics Doom and Quake, went to Square Enix on friday to make some kind of deal, according to a post on his Facebook.

"Now let's get a deal done," Romero wrote on Friday, February 15th.

That's it. It's not a whole lot to go on.

Romero did not post anything about what kind of project he could be working on, though it might not be the kind of game you'd expect. Though Romero himself is famous in the gaming community for his contributions to the world of first-person shooters, his company Loot Drop has spent the last few years making casual games for social platforms, including Facebook.

On the other hand, putting the names Square Enix and John Romero together, one can't help but dream up some insane possibilities. We're probably never going to see anything like: "Final Fantasy XV, a John Romero production." That doesn't make it any less fun to think about, though.
