‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Update: Catch Bonus Raises Odds To Get The Rare Critters

Niantic claims to have a lot of things lined up for “Pokemon Go” though much of those are likely to come at a later date. The belief is that most of the new features will be out by next year, most of which may be included in the highly anticipated Gen 2 update.

Believed to be coming out are the “Pokemon Go” trading and trainer battles though most are interested to see the Legendaries and Rares. Thanks to a recent update from Niantic Labs, another feature that is imminently coming would be catching rare Pokemon characters.

Better Odds at Rares

According to the post, trainers will be getting some sort of ‘catch bonus’ when “Pokemon Go” players earn medals when catching a specific type of Pokemon. The bonuses garnered will eventually account for better odds on capturing a certain type of critter for that line.

For “Pokemon Go players who are pretty familiar with the game, some Pokemon has multiple types. That said, the bonus dish becomes a bit complicated though it was explained that it will all boil down to the average of the bonuses for each type.

To illustrate, let us consider one of the easy to catch “Pokemon Go” critters – Pidgey. This Pokemon is categorized as a ‘normal’ and ‘flying’ type. So applying the explanation in mention, the catch bonus will be the average for the normal-type and flying-type for Pidgey. To cap it all off, the gist is that the more you play “Pokemon Go” and the critters you catch would line you up for better scoring against eventual y rare Pokemon characters, BGR reported.

The new upcoming feature for “Pokemon Go” seems pretty interesting only that Niantic (expectedly) did not mention when this catch bonus would come out. Could it be integrated with the “Pokemon Go” Gen 2 update?
