‘Mortal Kombat X’ Patch, Latest News & Update: Several Specific Character Adjustments; Kombat Pack 2 DLC Arrives

The PC version of "Mortal Kombat X" finally arrived on Oct. 4, 2016. The new patch from NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. featured several fixes, game balances, performance enhancements and a new netcode, among others.

Kotaku reported that "Mortal Kombat X" initially launched on consoles only, to the dismay of PC players. After losing popularity over the months, the game producer and developer finally announced that "Mortal Kombat X" was also coming to PC in August 2016. Now, the new "Mortal Kombat X" patch is 23GB in size, which includes the Medieval Skin Pack and The Pit environment for free. There were also some standard graphics features like adequate widescreen support. However, some players complained about performance issues and bugs, which NetherRealm Studios promised to address immediately.

A PC version of the "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 2 DLC was also made available, providing four new characters. The new playable characters are namely, Xenomorph from "Alien," Triborg, Leatherface from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and BoRai Cho. The additional characters are expected to boost the game's overall dynamics. "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 2 is not free.

In "Mortal Kombat X," Bo Rai Cho's staff will have the power to spin cancel against weapons thrown by his enemy, at the same time boosting its igniting power, according to Eurogamer. Kitana will be more lethal with her new Assassin Buff. Raiden will receive two hits of armor in the new "Mortal Kombat X" update. Shinnok will possess a dash cancel, which allows him to cancel his Judgment Fist and Smash moves. Goro's Punchwalk will be more dangerous after more punches have been added.

Furthermore, specific timing can no longer be used by "Mortal Kombat X" players. The Kounter message was added whenever a hit is deemed a counterattack or punish. The "Mortal Kombat X" patch also reduced the victim blockstun and block recovery of attackers. In the meantime, rumors of "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 are already circulating, which will allegedly include new playable characters like Rain, Noob Saibot, Shao Kahn, Fujin, Baraka and Sindel. More updates and fixes are expected in the coming weeks.
