‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle’ Release Date, News & Update: Game Levels Inspired By Classic Episodes From TV Series

Bandai Namco recently announced that a new action game is being developed by Bamtang, titled "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle." The game is set to launch in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

GameSpot reported that "Power Rangers: Mega Battle" was unveiled at the Bandai Namco booth at New York Comic-Con. Based on the initial gameplay video, the upcoming game is a co-op brawler type where players get to play any of the Power Rangers. The video showcased the six heroes, namely the Red Ranger, Blue Ranger, Black Ranger, Pink Ranger, Yellow Ranger and Green Ranger. However, in the actual gameplay, a maximum of four rangers were in action, suggesting that up to four players can engage in the co-op play. The Green Ranger was also missing in the gameplay clip, which could mean that he is either a special unlockable character, or entirely absent in "Power Rangers: Mega Battle."

Bamtang is the game developer of "Power Rangers: Mega Battle," while Bandai Namco will serve as game publisher. According to the game descriptiong, "Power Rangers: Mega Battle" features a creative and modern re-imaging of the classic multiplayer beat-em-up category. During the game, players can level up their power rangers, rely on teamwork, summon their respective robots to transform into Megazord and battle a wide array of enemies from the hit series.

According to reports, the "Power Rangers: Mega Battle" game features preserved the classic elements that made the series popular. The power rangers can morph, use weapons and martial arts and later summon the ultimate hero, Megazord. The game also showcases an intuitive and deep battle system, which includes light, heavy, projectile and weapon attacks and combos. In "Power Rangers: Mega Battle," characters can level up and unlock various moves, weapons and attacks.

It was also revealed that Tommy Oliver can be unlocked in his Green and White Ranger costumes. Other unlockable characters include Rocky, Adam, Aisha and Kat from the second season of the series. Each level in "Power Rangers: Mega Battle" is actually inspired by a classic episode from the TV series. The stages will feature some of the same dialogues, background details, enemies and cut scenes that players may still remember. "Power Rangers: Mega Battle" launches in January 2017.
