Until now Valve hasn't released any official statements for the third sequel of "Half Life." It is also not confirmed whether there will be a "Half Life 3" that will be made. The game was very successful since it was launched in 1998, fans are still hopeful that Valve will continue its success in its next sequel. Some reports also says that the game might be launched on 2018 to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

However, there are news that say "Half Life 3" might have virtual reality compatibility. According to IGN, a recent update in DOTA 2 contains a code named "HLVR." The code might actually mean Half Life Virtual Reality. It was also stated in the report that Valve and HTC are working together for the new virtual reality headset for "Half Life."

At the last Mobile World Congress event that was held, Cher Wang, the HTC chairwoman confirmed that they are working on the company's new virtual reality headset as stated by Express.
