‘Half Life 3’ Release Date, News & Update: Confirmed Virtual Reality Support Hinted by Valve? HTC and Valve Working Together? New Storyline Revealed!
Until now Valve hasn't released any official statements for the third sequel of "Half Life." It is also not confirmed whether there will be a "Half Life 3" that will be made. The game was very successful since it was launched in 1998, fans are still hopeful that Valve will continue its success in its next sequel. Some reports also says that the game might be launched on 2018 to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
However, there are news that say "Half Life 3" might have virtual reality compatibility. According to IGN, a recent update in DOTA 2 contains a code named "HLVR." The code might actually mean Half Life Virtual Reality. It was also stated in the report that Valve and HTC are working together for the new virtual reality headset for "Half Life."
At the last Mobile World Congress event that was held, Cher Wang, the HTC chairwoman confirmed that they are working on the company's new virtual reality headset as stated by Express. Cher Wang also confirmed that they are co-operating with "Half Life" but the chairwoman didn't specify if it was the "Half Life 3." The game would be totally worth the wait if it would really have a VR support.
Rumors and speculations about the games' new storyline are also circulating online. Rumor says that Gordon Freeman will remain as the main protagonist in the game. His new mission is to go deep underwater to meet Doctor Helena Mossman.
Gordon Freeman will be using a submarine to go on the underwater Kraken Base and will eventually find the doctor in her laboratory. His next mission is to escape the Kraken Base alive. Valve is also expecting to bring back the old players of the original "Half Life." Players will surely have a whole new level of gaming experience.
