Prior to its 2017 release, "Borderlands 3" is making an appearance through Easter eggs in Battleborn Story Operation. Some of the secrets in the game could reveal important information on the upcoming release. Battleborn's first DLC welcomes players to what looks like a vast city where some areas cannot easily be accessed. This makes players feel like they are in a maze which they need to figure out to discover the game's real environment.
'Promethea': What's in the term?
The clues to "Borderlands 3" reportedly came out through the vault icon, the franchise's symbol. The word "Promethea" was also revealed by reading through the letters and turning the vault around. The term refers to a planet in the game where alien technology was found. Hunting Borderlands Easter eggs on Battleborn could just tease more information on what players should expect with the next instalLment. Fans are expecting the game to be released by 2018.
Change in title
Earlier this year, Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford teased that they could change the name of the game for its third installment which he claimed is certainly coming. "We don't even know if we're going to call it that (Borderlands 3)," he said during a PAX East panel discussion. Pitchford's team for "Borderlands 3" will remain almost the same as art director Scott Kester will make a comeback for this iteration. Gearbox's Mikey Neumann, on the other hand, will write the entire game and make it more exciting for the players. "Borderlands 2" was an instant hit to many video game fans.
Following the success of 'Borderlands 2'
The previous game release has captured a big audience because of the all-new vault hunting experience it offered fans and players. "Borderlands 2" introduced new characters and classes, giving users more options on how to go about the adventure that Gearbox initially offered.
