'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Release Date, Latest News and Update: Posted & Teaser Unveiled; What To Expect For James Gunn's Movie

The much-awaited sequel to the unlikely blockbuster Marvel movie of 2014, "Guardians of the Galaxy," has finally come with a poster and a teaser.

In the poster first released by Director James Gunn, the ragtag heroes are back: Star-Lord/Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave 'Batista' Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), but this time, quite surprisingly, with two of their blue-skinned former foes: Yondu (Michael Rooker), Peter-Quill's adoptive father, and Nebula (Karen Gillan), an assassin and adoptive sister of Gamora.

They are leaning on a wall, standing alongside each other in what appears to be a black and white album cover. The same awesome and wacky vibe as the first film could be felt in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" in its snarky tagline, "Obviously."

And for those who can't get enough of their "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" fill, a new teaser trailer came out as well. As reported by Den of Geek, the video starts off with a heart-pumping chant from the first film accompanying its theme song, "Hooked on a Feeling," followed by action montages featuring all of the Guardians, including newcomers Yondu and Nebula.

Drax the Destroyer eventually cuts chase as he says a witty quote about beings ands dancing. He then shares a love talk with Star-Lord/Peter Quill whom he advised to get a 'pathetic' woman as him instead of going after Gamora. Drax then forcibly hugs Peter Quill to his annoyance in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

Fans and followers should get their hopes up and expect more fun with "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." Also, it does not stop just yet because by the end of the trailer, there is a glimpse of the adorable scavenger duo: Rocket Raccoon smiling through a gunshot wound with a squealing Baby Groot now on his shoulder instead of the other way around in the last film. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be out on May 5, 2017.
