Patch For The New 'Dark Souls 3' Coming On Friday

The first ever downloadable content of "Dark Souls 3" will be out on Oct. 25. Fans and gamers are getting quite excited with the expansion but are also saddened by the announcement that it will be the final installment of the game series. The latest update was referred as "the final episode" during a press release at Microsoft's E3 2015 media briefing.

"Ashes of Ariandel" is the first of the two expansions made for the game and the creators of "Dark Souls" said that both will be the conclusion of the game series. The director of "Dark Souls 3", Hidetaka Miyazaki has confirmed that the game will end its franchise.

Miyazaki said in an interview with Polygon: "It is time to move away from the Dark Souls franchise." He also said that as the president of From Software, he does not deny the possibility that the franchise may be back in the future. He further suggests that someone in his company may want to work on new installments. Yet after the two DLCs, the series will eventually end.

There might not be a continuation to the dark fantasy game series but somehow Miyazaki gave a hint that there might be HD remakes of the older versions of the game and it might be available for newer consoles. Miyazaki also said that even if there won't be another sequel for "Dark Souls", it does not mean that he would not make games similar to "Dark Souls" in terms of the theme and gameplay style.

Alphr noted that "Dark Souls 3" frequently overlaps with Dark Souls 1, so there might be a connection between the two games. According to Gamespot, the patch of "Dark Souls 3" will be out on Oct. 21 just days before the release of "Ashes of Ariandel", which will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. On the other hand, the second expansion of "Dark Souls 3" is rumored to be released in early 2017.
