Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Release Date, News & Update: For $445, You'll Get Snapdragon 821 SoC, Quick Charge 3.0, 6 GB RAM & More; Two Variants Come Oct. 25

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is yet to be unveiled in the coming week, specifically on Oct. 25. However, leaked reports have already surfaced online to announce the phone's specs prior to the company's official announcement. The device is said to roll out in two variants for under $500.

Leaked Powerpoint slides of the upcoming phablet have been spotted online. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is said to run on a Snapdragon 821 SoC processor with a quad-core CPU and Adreno 530 GPU under the hood. The device will also include a hefty 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage for $445. If true, the device may also roll out with a 4GB RAM variant with 64GB of storage for $415, the Phone Arena reported.

The 5.7 inch Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will also boast a Super AMOLED 2560 x 1,440 display with force touch, 4,100mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0, an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. It also has an Iris Scanner that offers one way to unlock the device.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 handset is also said to feature a dual rear camera with a 23MP Sony IMX318 sensor along with a 12MP Sony IMX278 shooter. The device is also said to include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor beneath the display built by Qualcomm. Furthermore, the handset has enabled NFC and will support Mi Pay.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is believed to replace the Galaxy Note 7 in the market. It is believed that Chinese phone companies have the tendency to reflect the hardware designs of the western iPhones. As for the general aesthetics of the device, leaked screenshots of the handset reveal a curved screen, ultra-slim bezels and a sleek all-black look.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is said to appear just like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Moreover, Weibo leaks allegedly revealed specs on the Mi Note 2 that are a step up from the Galaxy Note 7's internals. It is said that with the price that the handset is rumored to offer, it is expected that the market will consider China's phablet than the $800 plus worth Apple/Google/Samsung phones, Forbes reported.
