T-Mobile Galaxy Tab 2 Receives Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update

The T-Mobile variant of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is receiving the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update now. The update is currently available only for T-Mobile users in the U.S. Users can update their devices by using Samsung KIES or the OTA (Over-The-Air) services.

Samsung is expected to bring the latest Android update, Jelly Bean 4.2.2, to the device sometime in June 2013. However, users are advised to keep a close eye on the tablet's notification panel for the 4.1.2 update. Make sure you charge your device at least up to 50 percent and turn on the WiFi to pull the update from Settings > About Tablet menu as it arrives.

The update will bring a major overhaul of the entire UI. The most notable addition will be Google Now which will change the way you track traffic, weather, sports, news, locations or any info on your tablet. Android 4.2.2 update will also bring in an improved keyboard with a Swipe-like function and Project Butter will enhance the entire interface to provide a buttery-smooth feel as you move through screens and menus.

It should be noted that you will be able to upgrade your device only if you are running a stock firmware. If you are running a custom ROM, you will be required to restore it to stock Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich before trying to flash this official OTA Update on your device.
