"Shadowhunters" Season 2 is reportedly going to war as Valentine Morgenstern (Alan Van Sprang) raises a new army. All leaders in the underworld, seelies, vampires, warlocks and werewolves, will be helping one another to overcome a new breed of shadowhunters.
Fans should look forward to the scene in "Shadowhunters" Season 2 where all leaders of the downworld come together for a meeting except for the godfather. Showrunner Todd Slavkin described it as great in an interview by Screen Spy.
With Valentine threatening their lives and putting a lot of pressure among the different groups, working together will not be an easy task especially with the way The Clave is responding to the situation. Slavkin added that the first ten episodes of "Shadowhunters" Season 2 might focus on the growing tension among the different groups.
Valentine is the ex-husband of Jocelyn Fairchild, making him the biological father of Clarissa and Jonathan. He was once a skilled Shadowhunter from an affluent family in Alicante until his ideas became radical and became the main antagonist.
In the first season of "Shadowhunters," we saw that Valentine was able to get hold of the Mortal Cup. He and his son Jace (Dominic Sherwood) raised a new group of army to beat The Clave. Meanwhile, Jace will form a parabatai bond with Alec (Matthew Daddario), his foster brother and best friend in "Shadowhunters" Season 2.
While there are questions whether Jace and Clary will get back together or will go on separate ways with the presence of Seelie Queen, Sherwood believes that his character is not focused in pursuing her in "Shadowhunters" Season 2. He thinks that Jace is as evil as his father Valentine who is bent on raising an army to wage war.
