'The Last of Us 2' Rumors, News, & Updates: Naughty Dog Finally Focusing On Game After Releasing 'Uncharted 4'?

If you've been waiting long enough for a sequel to the beloved zombie apocalypse game "The Last of Us," then here's something to whet your appetite a little more. It's been three years and developers Naughty Dog have been working on other things, like a similarly much-awaited sequel to "Uncharted." Now that they've finally released a sequel to that series, it finally seems like they can really get down to work on "The Last of Us 2."

Neurogadget speculates that this is the case since it's been well-known that Naughty Dog has been working hard on a new "Uncharted" game. That's the good news, though; the bad news is that while they're already working on it, it doesn't seem as though "The Last of Us 2" will be seeing daylight until at least the year 2021. No less than Naughty Dog lead designer Neil Druckmann said so. If it does take that long, then they can be forgiven as long as they put out a really great game.

How do we know that this is really coming? For one thing, "The Last of Us" voice actor Nolan North, who voiced a character, confirmed the existence of "The Last of Us 2," according to a report last year by Game Rant. The low-key announcement at a time put fans in a frenzy because his work with the studio definitely would make him privy to such a discussion.

A report by GamenGuide discussed some possible new additions to "The Last of Us 2." These new features include introducing characters in the story (a no-brainer), a much older Joel and Ellie, and a possible Nintendo Switch release. Although "The Last of Us 2" seems like it won't come out until 2021, a more optimistic prediction sees the game dropping as early as 2018. Do you think they'll wait five years before putting out "The Last of Us 2?"
