If majority of the reports are anything to go by, the LG G5 will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update in November this year. Smartphone manufacturers appear to be preparing to roll out the all new Android operating system to their devices. The LG is more likely to be one of the first mobile makers to release the latest update to its devices.
Based on the report of Optus, the LG G5 will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat next month. The popular electronic company is the very first to launch a smartphone that runs the latest Android operating system with V20. The LG G3 was earlier spotted running the Android 7.0 during the Geekbench benchmark test.
LG, however, has not announced yet the list of the devices that will get the newest update. But based on several reports, the Android 7.0 Nougat will be rolled out to LG G4 Stylus, G5, G4, K7, K8, K10, X Style, X Mach, V10, X Max, X Power, X Cam as well as the X Screen.
The Android 7.0 Nougat features multi-window, improved file browser, better Java 8 language support, data server, bundled notifications, VR interface, Google Assistant, screen zoom, app switch, extra power efficiency and many more as reported by Forbes.
Meanwhile, the Android 7.1 developer preview is also rolling out and Nexus devices are first to receive the software. However, since it is a developer preview, it is difficult to determine if missing features are really missing as they are not totally finished yet or they are really not going to be included.
Other big smartphone manufacturers have also announced the list of devices that will get the Android 7.0 Nougat. Sony announced that Sony Xperia XZ will be receiving the update this month.
