Nintendo Switch Release Date, News & Update: NBA 2K17 Excluded From Third Party Games List? More Console Details Revealed

The Nintendo Switch was officially announced and now gamers are more interested in what games to expect from the latest game console. No brainer games to expect are “Mario” and “Legend of Zelda” but what about third party games like NBA 2K17?

As mentioned in a previous post, there were some games seen when the Nintendo Switch showed off its official trailer. There were some folks who had the privilege of getting a hands-on feel for the upcoming game, a new “Mario” game of which was at the top of it all.

Other games spotted on the trailer for the Nintendo Switch included “Just Dance”, “Basketball”, “Elder Scrolls: Skyrim”, “Splatoon”, and “Mario Kart”. Before jumping to conclusions, it would be best to note that just because they were spotted on trailers, there is no surety that they will be coming to the game console when it launches on March 2017.

A perfect example is “Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim”. In another post, it was reported how the game ended up among the games shown across the Nintendo Switch. The only reason seen is because “Skyrim Special Edition” is coming out next week and that it would be bannered by high definition graphics that could showcase the graphics display capabilities of the new game console.

Speaking of graphics, NBA 2K17 is also known to offer the same. But, seeing a different kind of “Basketball” game in the mix, the possibility of seeing the game from 2K Sports is unclear. Nintendo did have some NBA games under different publishers (Konami) before so there is a chance that the Nintendo Switch company may opt to go a different route, according to reports.

With the popularity of NBA 2K17, it seems hard to imagine why Nintendo would pass up adding the title to its third-party game title line. Nothing is definite for now though the company may still be weighing its options. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more Nintendo Switch news and updates!
