Attention at the moment is on the MacBook Pro 2016 though rumors tied up to the iPad Pro 2 are expected to kick off as early as Oct. 28 after the refreshed desktops launch. There have been rumors out already though the heat is expected to pick up soon.
As mentioned in a previous post, the iPad Pro 2 is expected to come out in three variants that include a 7.9-inch, 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch tablet. The first variant is targeted to the private users while the two larger sizes (10.5-inch and 12.9-inch) will be marketed to the commercial and educational market, Apple Insider reported.
AMOLED dipslays on iPads in 2018?
Looking beyond the iPad Pro 2 debut in 2017, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo adds more fuel to the future of Apple tablets with his new research. According to him, iPads will be coming out in 2018 and that these tablets will come out with AMOLED displays, Mac Rumors reported.
The new displays will fit in perfectly with the iPad 2018’s form-factor and design, something that could eventually pick up from the speculated enhancement to the iPhone 8 set to come out in 2017. That said, it may all depend on how the market reacts to AMOLED displays though the big change points to positive embrace for end-users.
Improvements to make iPads lucrative again
Seeing how iPad sales are not exactly performing well, this big refresh for iPads in 2018 could be a pinch in the arm. Seeing however that Apple has been dialed in to pushing its iPad Pro line, it remains to be seen if the alleged iPad refresh can pan out and stand alongside the leading products of the Cupertino company.
Equally interesting is the screen size the iPad 2018 may come out with. It could come out no smaller than the alleged 7.9-inch variant for the upcoming iPad Pro 2 to maximize what AMOLED technology has to offer. It may be a far way off but if Kuo’s call is true, Apple tablets could just see its fortunes raised once more.
