BlackBerry DTEK60 Specs, Features, News & Update: New Device Coming Out By Oct 25?

Signs are pointing to the possibility that the release date of the new BlackBerry DTEK60 could be actually today, October 25.

Mobile tech sites echo the same possibility that BlackBerry might release its newest flagship smartphone today. The rumored release date has easily spread like a wildfire after BlackBerry accidentally published some vital details of the unreleased DTEK60.

Sources from major retail stores in Canada and in the U.S have given hints not only on the possible release date of the android-powered BlackBerry, but even on some of the phone's highlights.

Pending the official launch of the BlackBerry DTEK60, preorder shipment is currently unavailable as of this posting. This, despite the preempted preorder listing by the B&H, which put the price tag of the DTEK60 at $499.99 for the 32GB version. The listing has since been removed by the company.

According to the Top Examiner, the unreleased DTEK60 sports a fingerprint feature, which is considered as a groundbreaking feature by BlackBerry. Since its release, the Canadian smartphone brand has been known for its keyboard smartphones, and less known for fingerprint-enabled phones.

There has been no official announcement from the BlackBerry for the DTEK60 as of yet. The TCL-built smartphone will be the first high-end smartphone from BlackBerry following the unveiling of the BlackBerry Priv last year, the GSM Arena reported.

Initial reports have it that the DTEK60 features a 5.5 QHD screen powered by a Snapdragon 820 CPU processor and 4GB RAM. It comes in a 32GB internal memory and sporting a 16MP rear-facing camera.

Meanwhile, BlackBerry has another model in the pipeline, particularly the BlackBerry Mercury, which was rumored to be released next year and will be identified in a model code BBB100-1. The announced model came after the last two models recently released by BlackBerry-the DTEK50 and PRIV.
