‘Red Dead Redemption’ Release Date, Latest News & Update: PC Version Eventually Coming Says Analyst

“Red Dead Redemption 2” will be due out in the Fall of 2017 with game versions expected for leading consoles from Microsoft and Sony. While that should be something, there are some still concerned on whether Rockstar Games has any plans to unveil a PC version.

Gamers only have to look at the original “Red Dead Redemption” to get an answer. To date, no PC version has come out though there is still lingering belief that one will eventually come out, GameRant reported.

One person who believes that this is probably is Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter. He believes that it may not be out now but will invade the gaming scene later. He cites the case of another Rockstar game title, “GTA 5”.

The game initially came out in 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Versions for the Xbox One and PS4 eventually came out more than two-and-a-half years later and eventually followed by a PC version, GamingBolt reported.

GTA 5 came out in 2011 and it took Rockstar 4 years to come out with a PC version. In the case of “Red Dead Redemption”, the open-world western action-adventure flick debuted earlier (2010) meaning a PC version should have been out by now.

In short, Pachter believes that a PC version may be out there somewhere and Rockstar may be holding on to it and finding the right time to get it out in the open. The company has been notorious for staggering the game release across all platforms which is obviously tied up to the business side of things.

If so, the same tactic could be ahead for “Red Dead Redemption 2” once it comes out next year. Does this mean PC gamers will have to wait until 2021 at the earliest to see a version for desktops?
