During an interview with Daisy Ridley who plays Rey, she hints the possibility of some theories, one of which says that she came from a lineage of Obi-Wan Kenobi. There was also the mention of Jyn Erso, the protagonist of 'Star Wars: Rogue One'. Ridley did not confirm nor deny the Obi-Wan theory, but did the match on the Jyn Erso theory and said that it won't work. Ridley then concluded the conversation with "let's see next year."
The latest and upcoming release of the franchise will be on December 15, 2017, according to Gamesradar. With the answer of Daisy Ridley herself, fans now know that their questions will be answered in 'Star Wars: Episode 8'.
