'Final Fantasy 15' News & Updates: New Spells & Moogles Revealed In First Look Of The Game!

Even though its release was delayed, we're getting closer and closer to "Final Fantasy 15." Developer Square Enix continues to build up the hype train as it releases new gameplay footage, showing off a rather powerful Death spell. The series' iconic Moogle race will be in the game too, and we now know how they're going to fit into the world of Eos.

Forbes manages to break down the new "Final Fantasy 15" previews. The released footage from Square Enix features Noctis and the crew casting the Death spell on this game's version of the classic "Final Fantasy" enemy Bandersnatch. It definitely looks powerful, but it doesn't actually provide a one-hit KO as the spell's name implies; in fact, it's just a standard life drain spell. The game's combat system looks delightfully chaotic, a more refined version of what was originally conceived in "Final Fantasy 12."

Meanwhile, the return of the Moogles to "Final Fantasy 15" will be a bit different than what "Final Fantasy" fans are used to. Instead of being an actual NPC race, the Moogles will be items that can save your party in a pinch, according to GameSpot. They're officially billed as "lucky items" and "dolls" that sit in your inventory, for your use in case of an emergency. Perhaps their function will be similar to the Moogles and Faeries in "Mobius Final Fantasy," which can heal you or provide other bonuses when you're low on life.

"Final Fantasy 15" will officially be out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 29. It was originally scheduled for release in September of this year but had to be delayed for further polish. Square Enix is considering plans to release a PC version of the game but hasn't committed to it just yet.
