‘Westworld’ Latest Spoilers, News & Update: ‘Dissonance Theory’ In The Eyes Of The Showrunners; Why Arnold Has Gone Insane?

"Westworld" fourth episode, titled "Dissonance Theory" poses a lot of questions that leads to speculation and theories. Showrunners, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, took some time to discuss some burning questions viewers might have.

However, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Nolan did not give any clarification as to the details regarding Dolores chatting with Bernard in the episode four of "Westworld." In the opening of the episode, she's talking about the bandits that killed her parents. She runs away but when she opens her eyes, she finds herself still with Logan and William.

Fans want to know if that particular scene was just a flashback or a continuity of the "Westworld" episode 3. Nolan did not confirm when it happened, but said that it is up for the viewers to decide.

The two showrunners of "Westworld" said that it would be best if fans watch the show assuming as little as possible. However, some fans still do not know exactly what happened to Arnold. Did he go insane and why?

Arnold is Ford's old partner who mysteriously lost his life in the early days in the park in "Westworld." His name got mentioned by the Man in Black who seemed to know some details of the park's history. Ford also mentioned him in one of his conversation with Theresa Cullen, saying that Arnold went insane.

Fans do not know much about Arnold in detail except that he is Ford's partner in building and designing the "Westworld." The duo, together with their team, had worked for several years inside the park. It was Arnold who had a different vision for the park although the guests refused to engage with his hopeful stories.

When Arnold went insane and he died, "Westworld" fans are still in complete confusion. Why someone like him, who has the most humane reaction, would be considered crazy? Is not Arnold just the sanest man in the world of machines learning to be human?
