‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Update: Candy Boost, Spooky Critters Headline First Halloween Event In Game

“Pokemon Go” will get into the Halloween mood as it holds it first-ever event in-game. Word of such has been teased in recent weeks and now all that becomes a reality starting Oct. 26.

The Halloween event for “Pokemon Go” will be held globally where the creepy critters will be the main focus. Aside from the spooky pocket monsters, Niantic will reportedly give gamers a different kind of Pokemon candy haul. Gamers can look forward to incentives in the form of candies with a simple participation on the planned Halloween events, Engadget reported.

More Pokemon Go Candy This Halloween

That includes six candies for each successful capture and four sweets for every Buddy level up. Transfering “Pokemon Go” monsters will also reward players with two candies.

Which Pokemon will try to spook you?

With lots of sweets to expect, who can players expect to see during “Pokemon Go” encounters this Halloween? It is believed that a lot of generation 1 pocket monsters will be plaguing gamer surroundings. This includes the likes of “Gastly”, “Drowzee”, “Golbat”, “Haunter”, “Gengar”, “Zubat” and “Hypno”, all expected to spawn at random.

The list of critters expected to come out may not be the ones folks are looking for but could offer something special. That said, there is no harm in seeing what captured “Pokemon Go” characters will carry. If they disappoint, players can always transfer them in exchange for more candies.

The Halloween in-game event for “Pokemon Go” should be something to see though it remains to be seen if the active player count will balloon in numbers like before, The Guardian reported. Niantic saw a big drop in gamer count, many growing old of the changes that Niantic has employed.

An update is expected soon but before that, “Pokemon Go” will join in the fun and celebrate Halloween in a different kind of virtual way. Take a peek at the "Pokemon Go" Halloween event in the video below!
