Xbox One Scorpio Release Date, News & Update: Microsoft Reveals ‘Amazing’ Progress As PS4 Pro Nears Launch Date

With the upcoming launch of Sony's new Playstation 4 Pro or PS4 Pro, Microsoft developers are working hard to complete development activities for the Xbox One Scorpio. Recently, a company executive shared a quick progress report for the new Xbox console.

Microsoft and Sony are slated to release their new consoles that boast of enhanced features and specifications. Sony is ahead of the console race with the upcoming November release of its new PS4 Pro unit. However, Xbox One Scorpio might make its debut in the gaming market at an earlier timeframe.

In response to a Twitter user who asked about the console's potential early release, Xbox boss Phil Spencer made mention of the development team's "amazing" progress on the Xbox One Scorpio. He hinted of a long discussion that he had with the team before commenting on development timelines. Spencer wrote, "We are feeling good about schedule."

The Xbox executive's social media comment sparked speculations that Microsoft's new console may get an early release date. However, Spencer did not mention any change to the console's planned launch date.

Spencer also shared a similar Xbox One Scorpio update during an interview with Gamespot. He again highlighted how the console's development progress is moving at a faster pace than expected. Despite the bump in hardware development milestones, the Scorpio team still has a long way to go before it can deliver a quality product.

Spencer added, "The teams understand the performance spec that we're building. We went through some of the high-level specs at E3 in the video. And it gives the teams time to make sure that they're targeting that performance for their games."

Meanwhile, with the upcoming console's 4K support, the Xbox One Scorpio is expected to change a player's gaming experience. Sony's new PS4 Pro unit also has a similar 4K functionality. However, Microsoft boasted that its new console will offer "true" 4K gaming, as indicated on the tech company's website.

PS4 Pro will hit gaming markets on Nov. 10, while the Xbox One Scorpio has been slated for release during the holiday season of 2017. Learn about Microsoft's new console in the clip below:
