T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 Receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

The much-awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 is now available through Samsung Kies. Galaxy S2 owners can now upgrade their smartphone from the lesser Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

All you need to do is to connect your device to Kies, Samsung's desktop PC software and download the 756MB file from there. T-Mobile has made it clear that neither the carrier nor Samsung will push the update Over-The-Air (OTA), necessitating users with the Magenta-flavored version of the Galaxy S2 to install Kies to get Jelly Bean update. Be patient while installing the new software as it could take some time due to its massive size.

Google's aging Android 4.1 Jelly Bean still touts Google Now and Project Butter. An official changelog for the T989UVMC6 Jelly Bean update is yet to arrive. However, as users of T-Mobile Galaxy S2 owners are now upgrading their devices from Android 4.0 to Android 4.1, they should expect to see Jelly Bean-specific improvements including the actionable notifications after installing the new software.

It should be noted that T-Mobile's Galaxy S2 receives the update almost a week and a half after Sprint's version of the smartphone was updated.
