Apple MacBook Pro News & Update: New MacBook Pro Announcement Shows How Apple Is Good At Timing Their Releases

Hot off the heels of Apple's declining sales -- for the first time in around 15 years, to be exact -- and a brand new Microsoft PC that's built for artists comes the MacBook Pro redesign. The timing of Apple's announcement couldn't have come at a better time, but the company knows exactly what to do and when to do it, anyway.

The new MacBook Pro is exactly what is rumored for months now. Express reports that the big new feature everybody expected it to have, like the OLED Touch Bar that rests just above the keyboard, is there. The Touch Bar, literally a touchscreen bar, contains some relevant information and button options depending on the app(s) that's currently active. The new MacBook Pro is also thinner and lighter, weighing only three pounds.

The Verge opined that even though Microsoft came out with a huge announcement in the amazing Surface Studio touch PC, Apple's MacBook Pro revelation was they way to reestablish its place in the industry. The MacBook Air had gone out of style in a relatively short time after its introduction and they needed to steer the MacBook Pro in the direction of smaller, lighter models. Their big redesign was them saying that it is still the best laptop maker around right now, especially for those who need it in the creative and business fields.

Apple has made its reputation on the cutting edge of the tech industry, announcing and releasing the iPhone in 2007 -- the first smartphone of its kind. They followed this up by putting out the iPad, perhaps the first tablet of its kind, in 2010. Each of these releases was timed exactly when the industry was on the cusp of innovation. Apple knows exactly when to prepare their own innovations and reveal them when the world is ready.

Apple has made the MacBook Pro available for preorder today; at least, the basic model without the Touch Bar is available to buy now for around $1800. The laptops will be fully available in a few weeks.
