‘Skyrim Special Edition’ Release Date, Latest News & Update: Mod Differences For PS4, Xbox One & PC

“Skyrim Special Edition” is finally out with the difference being enhanced graphics and the insertion of mods. For those who played the original game that came out in 2011, gameplay may hardly differ though the opportunity to explore is still pretty much enticing.

As far as graphics is concerned, visual enhancements are noticeable only that the actual figures and shapes show off just how old the game truly is. This can be pretty much seen in the polygonal formations and probably on “Skyrim Special Edition” more depending on a gamer’s standards, Forbes reported.

But then again, folks who have decided to take up Bethesda with the remastered “Skyrim Special Edition” shouldn’t be carried away. This is technically not a new installment though there is a consolation in the form of mods.

Unlike before, mods are no longer something you can use under Microsoft’s watch. Initially and easily available for the PC, it has invaded the game console scene. There are however differences which players will have to take note of particularly in terms of storage when playing “Skyrim Special Edition”.

On the PS4, gamers will need about 1 GB of space while the Xbox One will need a larger 5 GB for the mods of “Skyrim Special Edition”. The mod count for the PS4 is 38 while the Xbox One offers 119.

Apparently, this is the best setup to look forward to, with special mention to PS4 players of “Skyrim Special Edition”. Recall that there are still some fine-tuning in the works between the two companies though this deprives the PS4 players of some key mods available for the Xbox One.

This includes “Skyrim Special Edition” mods that include the dialogue overhaul for relationships, bug fixes, expanded crafting options, alternate start locations, and a campfire system, Eurogamer reported. The difference is obvious so it will be interesting to see if this plays a role in “Skyrim Special Edition” sales in terms of the console.

For those planning to buy a game console, it could sway which between the PS4 and the Xbox One would be better. Either way, “Skyrim Special Edition” is here and players can opt to get one or not. Seeing that “The Elder Scrolls 6” isn’t expected out soon, this will have to do for now.
