The Undertaker was spotted at the Q Arena when the Cleveland Cavaliers opened their title-defense against the New York Knicks, a surprise that sent off different signals. One was that he seems to be up and about and ready to return to the WWE.
The weeks have seen headlines showing the Undertaker on crutches which turned out to be a result of undergoing hip surgery. Such begged to ask if it was over or whether he has one more WWE match in him. The obvious is that most are expecting him for at least one ‘last ride’.
Wrestlemania 33 is still a good 6 months away or so, giving him ample time to recover. It has been a tradition to see him in the annual WWE extravaganza and is likely to be among the cards set for Orlando.
The original WWE plans were for John Cena to face the Undertaker though new developments may have surfaced. The possible opponents have now become three with the return of Bill Goldberg and the possibility of Sting coming out of retirement for one last match, Forbes reported.
Goldberg made an emotional return recently and is set to face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Being out for 12 years, Lesnar has been the WWE odds-on-favorite to even the score with his Wrestlemania 20 foe.
The WCW legend’s deal is reportedly a one-time deal, meaning he could be out as fast as he returned. The chances of Golberg starring in other matches will depend on how his match will turn out at Survivor Series 2016.
If not Goldberg, Sting has been surprisingly mentioned as an opponent for the Undertaker. Sting was forced into retirement so it will be interesting how he can be inserted back with proper clearance from the WWE physicians, Prowrestling.net reported.
A card with the Undertaker is nothing new, something that could have happened before. Vince McMahon was originally against it so it seems a bit sketchy why he has now been re-inserted to the WWE scripts.
