"Doctor Strange" is the newest movie offering from Marvel Studios. It was well-received and gotten good feedback from the audience. At one point, the film was described as Marvel's most innovative project yet.
Being a Marvel movie, "Doctor Strange" naturally has connections with other movies produced by the studio and this is why it is filled with subtle references to Marvel favorite stories. Easter eggs are also remarkably everywhere in the movie although they may not be easy to spot.
Definitely, "Doctor Strange" has lots of cool references and Easter eggs that provide hints on what to come or it simply honors someone in the comic book history. So you will not miss the Easter eggs, here are top three scenes to watch out for:
Avengers Tower
In "Doctor Strange," the drone shot of New York, following the opening sequence, clearly shows the headquarter of the Avengers which is the Stark Tower. Also, Marvel did not edit out the actual MetLife building in the picture so it is visible as well.
Stan Lee
Almost all MCU movies have Stan Lee in it. His cameo roles in Marvel movies are not necessarily significant, but in "Doctor Strange," his appearance was quite fun to watch. Lee was in the chasing scene in New York, he is sitting and reading Aldous Huxley's "The Doors of Perception" while there's a chase going on.
The Book of Cagliostro
The Ancient One and Kaecilius had learned forbidden arts from the book written by Cagliostro, an Italian wizard. The pages were filled with passages jotted down by 31st century sorcerer called Sise Neg and "Doctor Strange" will feature this passages as well.
The book also have notes referring to a magic spells that allow user to time travel. In the movie, "Doctor Strange" also learned traveling through time from the book.
Meanwhile, Deadline reported that "Doctor Strange" is smashing box office records overseas. The movie premiered in 33 markets and it accumulated over $86 million during the first weekend from its release date on Oct. 13.
