‘Avatar 2’ Release Date, News & Update: What Is Better Than 3D Movie For James Cameron Upcoming Sequel?

"Avatar 2" is expected to soar higher than the original franchise as its creator James Cameron is aiming for greater heights. "Avatar" has been the highest grossing movie of all time, and fans are surely anticipating more from its sequel.

It has been reported that James Cameron is planning for four more sequels starting with "Avatar 2" in 2018. But what should fans expect in the upcoming movie?

In the event by Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, James Cameron revealed what is better than making a 3D movie for "Avatar 2." The 62 year old filmmaker hopes that new technology would allow a glasses-free 3D movie!

As James Cameron works on "Avatar 2," he admits that they are working and pushing for higher dynamic range and higher frame rate. The crew will be very "bullish" in making the movie in 3D especially making it without glasses.

With James Cameron's brighter goals for "Avatar 2," fans are wondering if the movie will be released on its intended date. But movie goers should not be alarmed as the director is known for his technical marvels in movies lie "Aliens" and "Terminator."

It is hard to imagine "Avatar 2" in 3D movie without the glasses. However, there are television manufacturers who are showcasing 3D units without the glasses like Samsung's 8K Glassless 3D SUHD TV. Having said that, it is not really far out that we will soon see more movies in 3D without glasses!

James Cameron's desire to make a glasses-free 3D movie does not mean it will have to happen in "Avatar 2." As mentioned, there will be four more sequels and the new innovation could actually happen on the later series.
